study like a gryffindor: break out the good snacks and pump the music, use breaks as a time to work out, go to the professor’s office hours when you have questions, be confident in your ability to succeed
study like a hufflepuff: organize study groups, do your readings in your comfiest sweaters, write your own notes and study guides from the textbook, be unafraid of the hard work that studying takes
study like a ravenclaw: think critically when re-reading notes, quiz yourself while brushing your teeth, tackle the hardest practice problems, know that you have the skills to get it done
study like a slytherin: use every resource available to study, use your notes to make your own lecture, challenge yourself by setting goals even if you’re not sure you can achieve them, be proud when you do well

totally am not crying
Anxiety really cramps my style like how am I going to seem chill and fun if I often start trembling and breathing heavily and developing a look of impending doom in my eyes
If Iron Man can do it, so can I
this is literally one of the most inspirational things
Does anyone else love bad weather? Like the kind that’s loud and dark and draws attention to its self like pounding rain drops and thunder and lightning that seems just so close. And you can sit near a window and it’s dark outside and maybe you’ve got a candle lit or a lamp and it’s so warm inside and you’re wearing you’re favourite sweater and watching a good show or reading a good book and it’s beautiful outside the rain and the clouds and the sound of it all and you’re just so content and cosy and happy
Sometimes around like 95 he said he didn’t need more money. He’s given away literally millions to his town (he had a little league field(?) build so his kid’s team could play) and to other notable charities for decades. He said, and has written in his books, that there’s only so much money a person needs and the rest is just vanity. He was taught that as a child and lived it as a multi-millionare (which he never truly was – bc he gave it away).
He and his family lived in the same modest suburban house in the same modest Maine town since the 70s.
And then there’s Jeff Bezos.
sometimes is heart-warming to see that indeed good people still exist
This is an important message.
I will never NOT reblog this.
Things I’ve heard my (cis/het) brother say while he’s been in college for the last year:
-(Heard over the phone) “I don’t care WHAT is in your pants or what you identify as, GET THE FUCKING PISS OFF THE TOILET SEAT”
– “I don’t get why some men like to call themselves straight and then say they’d never date a Trans woman because honestly if you’re willing to exclude an entire subsection of women based on something so stupid you’re probably not worth their time anyways”
-“I don’t know why some guys worry about gay men in the locker rooms because if I was a gay guy, even I wouldn’t date me. I’ve been wearing the same shirt for three days.“
-(Over spring break) “How the fuck do you make Kraft mac&cheese”
-“What do you mean it’s written on the box– WAIT SHIT IT IS”
-“I hit on a lesbian two weeks ago in the SU without knowing it and I still feel bad about it”
-“I honestly think I’d prefer living with a (Trans) person at this point because if they’re even as half as cool as you then it’s got to be better than living with two 19 year old boys who have fucking competitions of who can piss farther on the ceiling”
-“For some reason even in college guys don’t seem to get that the only reason I get so many girls’ numbers is because I treat them like I would treat anyone else”
-“No seriously they think you have to act uninterested or like a dick for some reason”
-“No I don’t know why they think hitting on a lesbian is anything but a lot of secondhand embarrassment for the rest of us”
-“My roommate came into the room looking really dejected and when I asked why he said that he spent hours talking to this girl just to find out that she had a boyfriend the whole time and didn’t say anything” (And after me asking why it mattered) “I dunno, apparently he doesn’t understand the concept of friends”
-(After me saying I don’t get heterosexuals sometimes) “Even I don’t understand straight guys little dude, and I am one”Also:
“I’m actually really glad you’re a boy because now I can do THIS” (pretends to full on body slam me into the couch and then carries me around over his shoulder in a fit of laughter)omg this warms my heart
Holy shit this got 1K notes you’re all gonna make my brother cocky
some fucko: not ALL men!!
me: you’re right. [op’s brother] would NEVER
Addition, said to me yesterday during a discussion we were having about toxic masculinity: “Honestly…in my experience, people in the LGBT community seem to have more empathy and care more about their peers than straight men do. Like I have a lot of friends, you know, but if I had to choose between who I wanted to talk to about something deep and emotional, I honestly don’t think I could talk to my straight bro’s about it because they usually don’t understand or just call me a pussy for it”.
And honestly that hurt me so deep because like…is it really like that for y’all? That sounds…so incredibly difficult oh my god
Faith in humanity +10 points
A little girl hears for the first time the Muslim call to prayer.
Subhanallah
If you don’t think the call to prayer is one of the dopest sounds out there, you have no ears.
Will you please just look at how mesmerized this child is
this is beautiful.
“That’s a good one.” She’s so mesmerized! And her mom just doesn’t even notice.
I love this because a lot of the time in western culture Muslim traditions and practices don’t get highlighted for the beautiful things they are and here’s a little girl exposed to just a small aspect of that and she’s in awe. That’s wonderful.
The true look of wonder in this girls eyes…. It is truly a beautiful thing
