#oh man oh man #everyone knows steve rogers never backed down from a fight #and not only does bucky tell them to retreat here #he also orders them to surrender #that really tells you everything you need to know #bucky doesn’t go in for last charges or suicide runs #look at his face in the bottom right #that is a man who is weighing up pain and isolation and torture on the one hand #and death on the other #not just his own death #but all of his men too #that is a man who CHOSE to live on in hell #that is the man who HAD to learn how to back down from a fight #steve never had to learn that #bucky probably always had to #someone had to #it’s the worst position #to have to be the one who chooses which awful alternative you all take #and bucky’s ready #he can do that #someone has to be to blame (via ifeelbetterer)
