Before it gets google translated, here is the fifth and last extract. @imsebastianstan for @lofficielrussia interview by @kingwilliamalex – As a person who has some first hand experience working in the superhero genre, do you think it will soon evolve into some other sub-genres? Like a superhero-sitcom, or something like that?
– That’s a good question, and frankly, the answer is: I don’t know. The tone is very important. What Marvel has been doing so well with their movies – it’s that, merging them under the same tone. If you look at the last Avengers movie, and that’s why the Russo directors were so exceptional, is that you have all these different characters. Captain America is very different to the Guardians of the Galaxy. Doctor Strange and so on – tonally very different worlds, but they blended them so well with one another. You have to be careful with that and feel the temperature: how would this character react in this scenario? But the Russos were able to do it. – What was it like working with Nicole Kidman on the Destroyer? Was she playing a good or a bad cop?
– She is an incredible actor, there are so many movies she did, that I loved. I remember watching her when I was growing up. She is very generous and she has a specific dedication particularly to this role. Its different to what she’s done so far. On the subject of good or bad – it will have to be decided by you when you watch it. One of the reasons I loved the script so much is that duality in people, when you have to figure out how much good and bad each of us have. My character is very ambiguous. It gets you to think: we are all “good people”, but are we, really?
– Any plans to visit Europe soon?
I go all the time with work, so, probably, it’s a yes.
– I know you’re from this very beautiful place by the Black Sea, Costanta in Romania. Do you go there often? – I haven’t been back there in about 14 years. I went to Bucharest last month, it was very special. I’m debating going next summer though, it’s fantastic during this time of year. #destroyer #nicolekidman
