No offense but when Steve tells the recruitment doctor that he’s hoping to be assigned to the 107th it might partly be because of his father’s legacy but also Bucky is in the 107th, and you gotta think that Steve just really, really wants to be fighting alongside Bucky, because even though neither of them will acknowledge it aloud they both clearly know there’s a damn good chance that Bucky is gonna get killed in action, and that’s what to the end of the line means, right, that they’ll never leave the other to die alone, and that optimally they’ll leave this earth together
