People can watch movies that star white people and they don’t expect it to represent the “white experience” for every single white person. But the minute Asians get something on Hollywood some people (many of which are Asians) are criticizing it for not being a full representation of Asian stories. Crazy Rich Asians is not supposed to be the only Asian Hollywood film, it’s supposed to be a stepping stone for more asian stories (different stories) to be told. Bold of anyone to assume every single Asian story could be told in one 2 hour movie but go off i guess.
