You ever notice that Movie!Bucky never walks anywhere in Winter Soldier mode? He struts everywhere? Like he’s on a catwalk to show off the thighs of betrayal and that metal arm? What caused that.

Now that you mention it, I believe it’s Comic!Bucky’s trait as well…

I think he’s aware of his physique in a way that Nightwing is. They’re both show-offs to some extent. In Bucky’s case, that’s just how he was as a kid. Now, as the Winter Soldier, he’s just a tad more dramatic and brooding. Being a highly trained assassin makes him agile in a cat-like way, hence all these struts, “posing” and “modeling” both in the movie- and the comic-verse.

Also! In the comics Bucky was very self-conscious about being a kid and tried to act grown up, which he thought meant he should be flirty and cocky as often as possible, and the mannerisms just kinda never left him. Seb read the comics and he’s incredibly good at picking up clues from source materials in general, so he might have decided to catwalk Bucky’s way through the movies because that’s just how Bucky moves. I think Seb took it to the next level as the Winter Soldier because he had to emphasize body language in CATWS because he doesn’t really have lines in that movie.
